Kyuri Shin (aka Ky) is an interdisciplinary creative with a passion for Digital Product Design.
Originally from London with Korean heritage, I have spent time living in both Seoul and London, and now I am based in Hamburg, Germany.
My design process is grounded in user research, strategy, wireframing and prototyping, reiteration and execution. I am not afraid to challenge the rules if it leads to better results and I believe great design comes from asking the right questions and keeping the user at the heart of every decision through empathy.

Barclays
– Nest
UI/Identity
Nest is for whom money may be an additional trigger for mental health issues, especially young adults aged 18 to 25. Barclays wanted to make banking a little bit easier by providing tools and support to help people manage their money better and, as a result, improve their mental wellbeing. Thus my approach was to make online banking less anxiety provoking and fun by fusing the UX with gamification.

Barclays wanted to make banking a little bit easier by providing tools and support to help people manage their money better and, as a result, improve their mental wellbeing. Thus my approach was to make online banking less anxiety provoking and fun by fusing the UX with gamification.
This was a project for D&AD New Bloods Awards and I designed the UI and planned the concept of UX, also the logo and avatar Blou for the gamified banking app. Blou is a virtual AI coach, introducing users to mindful banking experience. The immersive experience is intended to naturally form money managing habits and financial goals to reduce the root cause.

EYEBO - WIP
Research + UI
The sustained and constant use of smartphones and tablets is raising the incidence of myopia. How can we use devices as a tool to communicate and inspire to help solve this worsening situation?
The challenge is to inspire younger phone users, teenagers and students all over the world who are at risk from myopia to change their behaviour. Is there a positive habit to be formed to manage/break this habit? To do this, I will create Innovative ideas embedded in digital design, from a gaming activation through to a clever use of tech.

Sebastian Sochan
Design & Development (HTML & CSS)
I created a logo and website for the award-winning fine artist based in London, Sebastian Sochan – with a splash of new logo that conveys his artistic concepts.
Sochan’s work involves colourful dreamy sculptures, handtufted rugs and wiggly bookends & blobby candle holders are based primarily on pure emotions inspired by his favourite sentimental choice of music’s lyrics.
